Misc. Notes
Fernando de la Cerda (1), Infante de Castilla, also called Fernando de Castilla (el de la Cerda), was born in 1255, and married Blanca de Francia, in Burgos, in either 1269, or on October 30, 1268. Blanca was born in 1253, in Jaffa, Palestine. They had two sons, Alfonso, and Fernando de la Cerda.

Fernando, the father, who was the legitimate heir to the throne of Castile and León, died while fighting the Moors, in 1275, in Ciudad Real. His father, Alfonso X, was then still alive so Fernando's older son, Alfonso de la Cerda, became the legitimate heir to the throne. As you will read elsewhere, Alfonso was passed over for the throne in favor of Fernando's brother, Sancho. Blanca died in Paris, between1320 and 1322.
